Bass Falls Preserve

Midcoast Conservancy’s 216-acre Bass Falls Preserve in Alna lies on a scenic stretch of the Sheepscot River known for its striped bass. A 2.5-mile trail network leads visitors across fields frequented by eastern bluebirds, into mature stands of pine and oak, to the banks of the rushing river. Recreational opportunities include hiking, hunting, fishing, snowshoeing, and birdwatching. The Land for Maine’s Future Board supported the acquisition of 184 acres of the Bass Falls Preserve in 2009.
