Caribou Bog-Penjajwoc

The Caribou Bog-Penjajwoc wildlife and recreational corridor extends south from Old Town, through Orono, and into Bangor. There are more than 7,500 acres of conserved land within the corridor: land trust preserves, municipal parks, and state-owned properties. Most of the corridor is comprised of working landscapes open for recreational activities such as hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hunting, fishing, trapping, and snowmobiling in designated areas. The Land for Maine’s Future Board supported the acquisition of 2,015 acres within the corridor between 2005 and 2010.
