Located in Stockton Springs, Fort Point State Park is a 100-acre park located on a historical point at the mouth of the Penobscot River. The park features a sandy beach, two miles of gentle hiking trails, and ample opportunities to observe wildlife, including resident osprey and migratory shorebirds. Owned by the state, but managed by the town, Sandy Point Beach was acquired in 1990 with support from the Land for Maine’s Future Board.
